Reference

The lists a B2B Pricing configuration is built against.

Every page under here is written from the extension's own code by oce docs:reference, so none of them can drift away from what the version you installed does. A verdict that is not on the Price check page is a verdict the code cannot produce.

What a generated list cannot tell you

  • There is nothing to configure before it is useful. The settings screen carries the module's status switch, the switch for the JSON API (off until you ask for it), and a detailed-logging window for a support exchange. Everything else about pricing is a property of a list, edited on the list's own form.
  • A price list belongs to the installation; an assignment belongs to a store. So one list can price the same products for different people in different shops, and moving a list between shops is not a thing you have to do.
  • The rows are read in one statement. All the lists a buyer could be priced by are asked about together rather than list by list, so a page of forty products costs the same small number of queries whether the buyer is on one list or four.
  • Both special and discount are cleared on a product a list prices. OpenCart carries two older price fields beside the one it prints; a theme that reads either of them directly would otherwise print a number the cart is not going to charge. Clearing both keeps such a theme from printing it.
  • What it costs is three questions. Per request, at most: who this buyer is on a list for (once), what those lists say about the products on this page (once, however many lists and however many products), and, where the cart is not empty, whether this group has a case rule for what is in it. The third is asked whether or not the buyer is on any price list, because a case rule belongs to a customer group and has nothing to do with lists. On top of those, the cart writes a line's price back only when it has changed. What it costs has the measured figure for each of nineteen pages of a stock store; it ranges from none, on the admin pages, to seven.
  • The Price check screen is read-only. It has no Save button and writes nothing, which is why it is worth granting Access on to whoever answers the telephone.
