What a request can say¶
One row per order on the Requests tab, in one of nine states. The pills run in the order a request lives through them rather than alphabetically.
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Upcoming | Found, and not emailed yet. The date on the row is when it is due, not when anything was sent. |
| Asked | The request email was handed to your mail engine. Nothing here can tell you whether it was delivered, opened or read, which is why the word is asked rather than sent. |
| Reminded | Asked, and nudged once. There is never a second reminder, and any review landing for that order cancels the one there is. |
| Send interrupted | A pass stopped between claiming this request and hearing back from the mail engine. It counts as asked and carries no Resend button, because the alternative is emailing somebody twice. |
| Send failed | Your mail engine threw an error, which the row carries verbatim. Nothing retries it: press Resend once you have fixed the cause. |
| Waiting to be checked | A review came back and is sitting unapproved in Catalog > Reviews. |
| On the site | A review came back and you approved it. |
| Not asked | Deliberately skipped, with the reason on the row: the order left the status you chose, or nothing on it is left to ask about because every product has been deleted, switched off or left out of requests. |
| Unsubscribed | Skipped because this address is on the suppression list. Split out from Not asked because it is the one a customer asks about and the one with legal teeth. |
One product not asked about¶
A request can go out with some of its products left off. Each one left off says Not asked beside it on the row, for one of these reasons, and an order whose every product is left off is not asked at all.
| Reason | What it means |
|---|---|
| No longer in the catalogue | The product was deleted or switched off before the request or its reminder went out, so it is not in the email. The review page names it rather than leaving it out. |
| Left out of requests | You left the product, or a category it is in, out of requests before the request or its reminder went out. It is not in the email, and the review page says the store is not asking about it. A review already written for it is untouched. |
Needs a look is not a tenth state. It is a view across the nine, holding every request carrying a flag you have not acknowledged, which is why it is counted separately and rendered first.
The three flags¶
A flag says this row points at something that is no longer what it was. All three render in amber and none of them is an error: nothing on your storefront changes when one appears, and pressing Noted takes the row out of the count while leaving the flag on it.
| Flag | What it means |
|---|---|
| Order refunded since | The order behind a badged review has since been refunded, cancelled or reversed. Nothing changes on the site: the badge says the review was written by a real buyer, and it still was. |
| Review no longer exists | The review this request collected is not in oc_review any more. Usually a deleted product: OpenCart deletes a product's reviews along with the product and does not tell us. |
| Review submitted, linkage not established | Somebody submitted a review through the request and the write could not be proved to be ours, so it carries no badge. The review itself is fine and is in Catalog > Reviews. |
Flags are refreshed by the same pass that sends, over the oldest-checked requests first, so a flag is up to one pass out of date — and on a store with more collected reviews than one pass re-checks, several. Nothing is emailed on either side of a flag, so the staleness costs a screen rather than a customer.
