What Price check says¶
Catalog > B2B Pricing > Price check answers one question — what does this buyer pay for this product at this quantity? — and then shows its working: every price list the buyer is assigned in that store, live or not, and what happened to it.
These are the verdicts it prints. They come from the code that decides the price, not from a list typed beside it, so a verdict you see on the screen is described here.
| Verdict | What it means |
|---|---|
won |
This rung set the price. It is the cheapest rung at or below the quantity you asked about, on the list that spoke loudest for this buyer. |
rung |
Another rung of the list that won — the ladder either side of the one that applied. It is shown so you can see the whole shape of the list rather than the single number it produced. |
above |
A rung whose quantity is above the one you asked about, so it was never in the running. Ask again at a larger quantity and it becomes the winner. |
no_row |
The list is assigned to this buyer but says nothing about this product. It is not a fault: a list prices what it prices, and OpenCart prices the rest. |
specificity |
Beaten by a list assigned to this buyer by name. An arrangement with one company is a more specific statement than one with the group they happen to be in, and it wins whatever the prices are. |
priority |
Beaten on the assignment's priority, at the same level of specificity. Lower wins, and it is the number to change if the wrong list is winning. |
dearer |
Equally specific, equal priority, and dearer. Where two lists have an equal claim, the buyer pays the lower of the two. |
window |
The assignment's window had not opened, or had closed, on the day you asked about. The list itself is fine; nobody is on it today. This is the row that stops a merchant concluding the extension is broken when they remember a cheaper price that has since lapsed. |
draft |
The list is a draft. A list that is switched off prices nothing for anybody at any date, which is what makes building next quarter's prices in the open safe. |
A list that is not on the screen at all is a list this buyer is not assigned in that store. Price check shows what was considered; it does not search the catalogue for lists that might have applied to somebody else.
The screen explains a price; it never decides one. It asks the same function the product page and the cart ask, once, and ranks what that function had to choose between — which is why a price it reports and a price the shopper is charged cannot come apart.
