Troubleshooting

What goes wrong once Profitability Copilot is running. If it will not open at all (a blank page, or a bounce back to the dashboard), or the install said Success and nothing appeared, that is an install problem, not a Profitability Copilot one. See troubleshooting an install.

The dashboard says nothing has been recorded yet

No order has been recorded since the extension was switched on.

  • Check it is switched on. Status on the General tab of Profitability → Settings. While it is off, nothing is recorded, and switching it on does not fill the gap.
  • Check an order has changed status since. An order is recorded when it reaches a status, not when you open a screen. Orders from before you switched it on have no figures until you back-fill or recalculate.

It says nothing is counted as a sale yet

No order status is ticked under Counted order statuses on the Orders tab. Tick the statuses that mean the money is real and save. The figures appear without anything being re-run.

Revenue is lower than OpenCart's own reports

Usually one of three things, and none of them is a fault:

  • Lines with no cost are left out of revenue, not just cost. The dashboard says how many. Cost those products, or set a default margin, then recalculate over the period.
  • Revenue is the order lines, ex-tax. Shipping and order charges are on a row of their own beneath it, and tax is never counted.
  • Only orders at a counted status count, and whether one counts is read from its status today. A refund or cancellation today takes an order out of every month it was in.

See a product nobody has costed is left out.

I costed a product and its past sales did not change

That is the design. A recorded line keeps the cost it had when its order became real, and a line recorded with no cost stays unknown. Recalculate from a date on the Maintenance tab is the only way to reprice them, and it labels what it writes as backfilled.

Fees or fulfilment read zero

No rule is written for the methods the orders used. The Not configured yet panel names them. Write them on the Fees tab; see price your payment and shipping methods.

A payment or shipping method is missing from the Fees tab

The tab lists only methods an order has actually used, because OpenCart keeps no list of the codes a shipping extension can produce. The method appears after its first order.

An order is listed as one whose figures did not add up

Its lines do not add back up to what the customer paid, usually because another extension added a negative total to it. It is still counted. Press Recheck orders on the dashboard to work it out again from the order as it stands; each press takes up to a hundred. See totals added by other extensions.

Net profit reads as a dash

No expense covers the period, so the figure would only be contribution margin under another name. Add your expenses under Profitability → Expenses.

The cost field is not on the product form

  • Your group has no access to the cost permission. Tick access on extension/profitability_copilot/catalog/cost under System → Users → User Groups, then log out and back in. Without it the field is absent, not greyed.
  • Your OpenCart release changed the product form. The field is placed beside one line of the form's Price section, and if a release rewrites that line it is not shown. Every cost is kept, and still editable through the cost book. Tell us which release you run.

A screen is missing from the Profitability menu

Each screen has a permission of its own, and the menu leaves out any your group may not open. The list is on requirements and install. Log out and back in after changing it.

The Maintenance buttons are switched off

Your group may not rewrite recorded figures. It needs modify on extension/profitability_copilot/report/recompute.

A recalculation is refused because a run is already going

A run was started and not finished. Press Resume the unfinished run on the Maintenance tab. If nobody is running it, the refusal lifts fifteen minutes after its last request.

The cost book skipped some lines

The message gives the reason and the line numbers. The common ones: a model that matches no product or several, a product_id that is not a whole number, and a cost that is not a figure. The skipped products keep the cost they had. Correct those lines and upload the file again; the lines already imported are simply written again.

The API answers 404 api_disabled

The API is off. It is switched on in the API section of the General tab, separately from the extension's own status. Read the API before you switch it on. A correct credential refused with 401 is on the shared page.

Still stuck

Turn on detailed logging from the Diagnostics section of the General tab, reproduce the problem, and send us the kyvero.log file; see what Kyvero extensions log and support.
