The lists a Wishlist configuration is built against, generated from the extension's own code so they cannot drift away from what the version you installed does.

  • Settings: every setting Wishlist keeps, its shipped default, where it applies, and what it fixes on purpose.
  • When an alert is sent: what an alert can be about, and how often the sweep may run.
  • The API: the two read resources an integration may call, every field on each, and what the promise covers.
  • What this holds about a person: every column and cookie that is about somebody, why it is there, and what removes it.
  • Security verdict: where Wishlist stands against the shared security baseline, control by control.
  • What it costs: the queries and bytes it adds to nineteen stock pages.

Four things those lists cannot tell you, because they are not lists:

  • Who an owner is. Wishlist keys everything to one owner (a customer, or a guest identified by a cookie holding a random token), and one owner has exactly one wishlist per store. Limits and guarantees writes out what follows, including what a cleared cookie costs and what signing in merges.
  • What wakes the alerts. Nothing here is sent by a page view, and no setting above changes that: both scheduled jobs need something to run them, and there are three ways. Keep the alerts running covers them. The one release where OpenCart's own scheduler cannot work is named there and on the settings screen, beside the two doors that do work on it.
  • What each alert measures. A back-in-stock alert fires on a crossing and a price-drop alert measures against the figure the product page showed when the shopper saved it, tax and specials included. Limits and guarantees is where both are written out, along with the cooldown, the per-sweep cap and what a store with no mail engine does.
  • What happens at the edges: what an update keeps, what an uninstall leaves behind, what the daily tidy-up reaches, and what is deliberately not built, including the two narrowings a buyer should know before paying. All of that is on limits and guarantees; read it beside this page.
